Don't do a lot of fishing during the winter months but has anyone got a theory why they seem to prefer the blades. Do the bream move into deeper water over the colder months.

Crank baits and Vibes for me!

Fish will still get into the shallows, just not as often but when they do...they're there to feed and it's a great time to get the shallow cranka's out and target the warm water often found on the edges.

Vibes....everybody throws vibes during the cooler months, why? Bream will spawn during the cooler months and will congregate around the deeper parts of the lower reaches of a river - ocean walls and bars are a great spot to hit them :) and how else better to fish 20-50ft of water? With a blade or a vibe, or if your that way inclined a plastic!

These can be fished over deep weed beds, deep sunken structure or even hopped gently and carefully down a rockwall...

Plastics and vibes worked slowly, even dead stick them on the bottom for 5-10 seconds

I reckon plastic creature/worm baits are good in winter as they are easier to fish slowly, just sitting there. But Blades definitely cover more ground.
