Livewell
« on: June 23, 2012, 10:32:45 PM »
This is the livewell I'm setting up have a few more things.to add,I'm putting a tap to waste off pump so I can refresh water without moving it the pump is a 500gph which I had at home but going to upgrade to a 850gph pump just to get better aeration of the water and just a few adjustments on the spray bar, have done a test run and so far so good.

G-day redrocket, I'm not an expert with things but I'll be fitting a tap and pipe so I can pump to waste and going to refresh the water manually with a bucket. I don't know if this the right thing to do but I'm only using this temp till we set up a permanent livewell in the boat. I'm open to any ideas or thoughts

Im not 100% sure but I dont think they will let u fish a comp using manual refill. I would have thought u would need a pump to fill the tank with. Not a hard thing to do. U could just run a pipe over the back of ur transom to a bilge as a temp measure, or if u want to make it more permanent run a through hull fitting to a pump, just make sure if u do this u install a seacock.
Maybe some of the guys who fish the comps could give us their thoughts.

I'll stand corrected if wrong, but I reckon manual refill is OK with ABT Red. However like anything its best to check with the management of the comp you are entering well ahead of time.

Thanks guys, I checked out the rules at vbc it's says min 60lt insulated with a working aerator or reticulating pump and nothing about drawing water from outside the boat. I might have to e-mail Bill H see if he can clarify
