If you could.....
« on: February 23, 2012, 09:55:01 PM »
If you could pick any colour for a topwater lure designed to catch the usual estuarine species, what would you choose?

Feel free to add your own variations!

Dark Green with light Green stripes

Black with an orange belly

Clear

Yellow

Clear bottom with yellow top and tail

Yellow with Red gills and tail

Feel free to add your own choices!

Thanks in advance for your help

for me it would have to be clear cos i shallow fish a lot for whiting. I have been known to buy a coloured popper and sand it back to clear when i cant buy a clear one :)

Hey Choppers,

This question arose from a couple of angler's talking crap about getting some topwater lures pimped.

Without giving too much away, there are some new topwater lures in the pipeline so one of these colors might appear later on - who knows :)

Just think, you might get a custom colour that's 100% suited to you, without having to pay extra to get it pimped @ PML.

Basically this question is just a question asked by a couple blokes that I thought i'd put into a thread to keep this site bubbling along, but you never know where it will end up!

So what do you think is the best option?

after seeing the bream in japan smashing these little bright green ball things, id say a fully green lure with some white lines thru it.
The next one i do is gunna be with this colour, and after my attempt with a couple old crappy lures i had, i think i might buy some real paint and not use nail polish next time hahahaha. But they did work, got 2 flatty on a black and white lure i painted :)

Funny you say about a green lure, it seems to be the most popular option on this question asked!

I love green topwater lures myself...
