Mud Bishops OldBar
« on: January 13, 2013, 05:49:39 PM »
Went for a fish today a hour before the high tide hoping to catch a few big whiting hanging around the banks I had plenty of follows but do you think i could get a strike not today at all, bastards are to well fed or so timid from the bloody kite surfers.

Least i was rewarded with a bream,  taken on a Chugga Golden Glow

Nice one Woodie, lots of cakes with holes in the centre here of late.  :(
I hear ya about the jeyskiers BBG. First time I'd ever seen them up a patch of water that I was expecting to find some nice blackies feeding on a shallow bank, but they got there first & the result was a gimmie! Cracked a 37 from a nearby snag, but should have done much better in the conditions.

Around muddies at the moment there is a small channel and they just scream up and down it. almost impossible to navigate with them flying past

You are right Bbg  they need to dredge it bad.

A few fish from around that area in the last few days, good time of year to be fishing around that area.

Nice whiting there woody. I was out there this morning on the change of the tide. hard to find a good drift. no bream to speak of had some hits but just couldn't hook up.

consolation came in the form of 2 45cm flattys and 1 flounder 23. 1 flatty and the flounder returned but the 2nd flatty stabbed me in the foot with its spikes so it became dinner.

I think i need to mount my leccy bad

what they need to do is get rid of the little terns (turds) and open the river were it is supposed to and not aa kilometre north. Opening it up just might fix the problem old bars having with errosion. Until the do that the place will be closing up all the time
